Many famous and notable people have lived in Twyford through the centuries from the Mediaeval Lords of the Manor; the Giffard and the Wenman families; the authoress Flora Thompson and the BBC Political commentator, John Sergeant. Villages are made up of their characters and personalities and Twyford has plenty of these, both now and in the past.
